[ Dr. Mahdi Abdelguerfi: ] Today we celebrate a major milestone for one of our GulfSCEI Doctoral Research Assistants, Rasha Alshawi. Kudos to Rasha for the excellent defense of her dissertation titled "AI-Powered Inspection: A Computer Vision System for Efficient Defects Detection in Underground Infrastructures." Dr. Rasha Alshawi will be joining the University of San Francisco (USF) as an Assistant Professor effective August 2025.
